Each year, we host canal cruises during the enchanting Amsterdam Light Festival. We sail along the canals, where you can marvel at stunning light artworks illuminating the city. This year marks Edition 14 (2025 to 2026) of the festival, with over 20 new installations exploring the theme of Legacy — how we want to be remembered, what we leave for future generations, and how past and future connect. Dates and times
The Amsterdam Light Festival takes place from 27 November 2025 to 18 January 2026. Our canal cruises during Amsterdam Light Festival take place every day:
- Sunday to Tuesday: experience the stunning light display on the canals from 5pm to 10pm.
- Wednesday to Saturday: enjoy the illuminated artworks between 5pm and 11pm.
- Christmas holiday (20 December to 4 January): the light show dazzles every day until 11pm.
*On 31 December, the lights can be seen until 9 p.m.

Legacy
The 13th edition was centred on Rituals, celebrating the moments that guide us through life, especially in light of Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary. Edition 14 now shifts the focus to Legacy. With various fascinating light installations by both local and international artists, this year’s festival poses important questions: how do we want to be remembered and what will we pass on to future generations? The artworks are placed in, above and alongside the canals and can be viewed by boat, bicycle or on foot.
