Departure times

Our canal tours in Amsterdam run seven days a week, all year round, so there’s always a moment to fit a cruise into your plans.

High Season (April–October): We sail frequently throughout the day, usually every 30 minutes from 10:00 to 21:00.
Low Season (November–March): We continue to sail daily, with departure times that may vary depending on the weather and demand.

Since departure times change with the seasons, we recommend checking our live booking calendar when you choose your date. This gives you the most accurate schedule and helps you plan your cruise with ease.

Parking

We highly recommend reaching us via public transport, as our location is at Central Station. If you are arriving by car, the nearest large parking garages are P1 Parking Amsterdam Centraal or Q-Park Amsterdam Centraal. Please note that parking in this part of the city can be very busy and expensive.

Departure point at Amsterdam Central Station

Every canal cruise with Mokumboot departs from the same fixed point: Stationsplein 28, right across from Amsterdam Central Station, so there’s no need to search for us or travel far before your cruise starts. By train, tram, bike or on foot, the boarding point is only a short walk away. Our boats sail from 09:00 to 22:00, seven days a week, with cruises running roughly every 30 minutes in high season. Public and private cruises board a few steps apart at the same Stationsplein location, so you’ll always know exactly where to go. Just show up a little before your booked time and step aboard.

Every cruise is guided live by one of our local skippers, not by a recorded commentary through headphones. All our skippers speak fluent English and know the city well, including the quiet side streets and the most photographed bridges. They’re happy to share personal stories and answer questions as you sail past the sights, which makes for a warmer, more personal experience than a pre-recorded audio tour. Ask anything you like along the way; your skipper is there to help.

Accessibility

Please note: due to the historic design of Amsterdam’s canal boats, our open boats have steps and are unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. Passengers need to be able to step in and out of the boat safely on their own. If you have specific questions about accessibility, get in touch before booking so we can advise on the best option for your group. We’re always happy to help you find the right way to see the canals.
