Departure times

Our canal tours in Amsterdam run seven days a week, all year round, so there’s always a moment to fit a cruise into your plans.

  • High Season (April–October): We sail frequently throughout the day, usually every 30 minutes from 10:00 to 21:00.
  • Low Season (November–March): We continue to sail daily, with departure times that may vary depending on the weather and demand.

Since departure times change with the seasons, we recommend checking our live booking calendar when you choose your date. This gives you the most accurate schedule and helps you plan your cruise with ease.

Parking

We highly recommend reaching us via public transport, as our location is at Central Station. If you are arriving by car, the nearest large parking garages are P1 Parking Amsterdam Centraal or Q-Park Amsterdam Centraal. Please note that parking in this part of the city can be very busy and expensive.

Languages

Our tours are guided live by our expert local skippers. All our skippers speak fluent English and Dutch. They are excited to share their personal stories and insights about the city, offering a more personal experience than a pre-recorded audio tour.

Accessibility

Please note: Due to the historic design of Amsterdam’s canal boats, our open boats have steps and are unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. Passengers must be able to safely step in and out of the boat.

Florian Paul

Florian Paul

It's so much cooler to experience Amsterdam from a different perspective and not just be part of the mainstream on the big tourist boats, but to become your own captain 🧑‍✈️. Don't underestimate the fact that two hours is nothing, and I would definitely recommend booking the three-hour option! Don't forget food and drinks, or you could dock at a café and have someone fetch a cappuccino for you!

Skipper young (with a beard) did a great job explaining the light installations and handling some problematic guests on our ride. They are conveniently located right by Amsterdam central station!

Sailing routes

Our 1-hour classic canal boat ride gives you a clear and relaxed view of Amsterdam’s most iconic sights. Starting at Central Station, we sail past St Nicholas Church, the Schreierstoren and the striking Scheepvaartmuseum before gliding by the Dancing Houses. On the Amstel you see the Stopera, the Herengracht and lively Thorbeckeplein, followed by the romantic Seven Bridges and the route towards the Skinny Bridge. Along the way you also pass the Golden Bend and the Anne Frank House. The tour ends at the Munttoren, with every turn revealing another side of the UNESCO World Heritage canal belt.

Our boats

Why choose Mokumboot for your canal cruise? Because we believe in creating a personal experience just for you. You step aboard one of our comfortable and stylish open boats, giving you clear views of the canals and plenty of room for great photos. Our smaller boats offer a more intimate atmosphere than the larger and busier tour vessels, so you can enjoy the city at a relaxed pace. And if the weather turns, we simply cover the boat to keep you warm and dry while you continue your journey through the canals.

We also offer historic tugboats that have been transformed into inviting and modern vessels. These tugboats seat up to 35 guests and can sail with an open deck or a covered one, depending on the conditions. They run on green energy, which means quiet and smooth sailing as you explore Amsterdam’s waterways.
